ABSENTEE BALLOTS WITH INSUFFICIENT POSTAGE ARE DISCARDED

It has been discovered that Absentee ballots require additional postage; this is not indicated on the envelope.

The ballots are NOT returned to sender for additional postage but are discarded.
This information was obtained at both a local post office in Brooklyn and
confirmed at the General Information number: 1-800-ASK-USPS.

This means that many disabled folks have no idea
that their ballot is never received by the Board of Elections.  The
possible loss of thousands of votes is outrageous and an indication
of another flaw in our electoral system.  This may be occurring
in many parts of the U.S.
